Electronic Connector: Red or White IDC Connector
IDC ( Insulation-Displacement Connector), named after its unique crimping technology that enables electrical connection without stripping the wire insulation.
No Stripping Required: Internal metal blades within the connector pierce through the wire insulation when pressed, making direct contact with the internal copper core to form a hermetic connection.
Specifications and Parameters:
Pitch: 1.27mm – Micro-Match series, commonly used in high-density board-to-board or cable-to-board connections. 2.54mm – standard pitch, widely applied in general electronic devices, computer motherboards, hard drive ribbon cables, etc.
Pins: Ranging from 4 to 26 pins or more, common configurations include 4P, 6P, 8P, 10P, 16P, 20P, etc.
Types: DIP/SMT – Through-hole or surface-mount types for PCB mounting. Cable-to-board/Cable-to-cable – designed for use with flat ribbon cables.
Angles: Available in 180° (straight) and 90° (right-angle).
Application Scenarios:
Consumer Electronics: Connecting internal displays to motherboards in smartphones and tablets.
Computer Hardware: IDE hard drive ribbon cables (classic historical application), front panel interface cables inside computer cases.
Industrial Control: Sensor signal transmission, interconnection between modular devices.
